An LEV - in full Light Electric Vehicle, or light electric vehicle - is a compact, electrically powered means of transportation that enables smart and efficient transportation over short distances. Goods, personnel or visitors? An LEV moves them effortlessly and sustainably.
Thanks to their lightweight design, maneuverability and zero emissions, light electric vehicles are ideal for urban areas, business parks and confined environments such as ports, hospitals or vacation parks. Their compact size reduces traffic congestion and inconvenience, making them particularly suitable for inner-city use.
LEVs are therefore increasingly seen as the future of urban mobility. Many entrepreneurs are already investing in them or seriously considering them. Not only because of the sustainable benefits, but also because an LEV can serve as an excellent marketing tool - conspicuous, quiet and recognizable in the streetscape.
Quiet, efficient and surprisingly versatile: LEVs offer a future-oriented solution to the logistics challenges of today and tomorrow.
View LEVsAn LEV vehicle has quite a few advantages.
LEVs from Spijkstaal fall within the L7e category: these are heavy-duty four-wheel mopeds with an electric drive system. This category is for compact vehicles that can carry heavier loads than standard mopeds, but are not covered by the rules for cars.
An L7e vehicle combines the advantages of light and agile transportation with added payload capacity and safety - ideal for professional use in both urban and enclosed environments.
Our LEVsVehicles in the L7e category are subject to BPM (Tax on Passenger Cars and Motorcycles) in the Netherlands. This is a tax you pay when registering a vehicle.
Although electric vehicles are often exempt from BPM, this exemption does not currently apply to L7e vehicles. This means that a one-time BPM charge must be taken into account when purchasing an LEV in this category.
The amount of this tax depends on the type of vehicle and the net catalog amount. We are therefore happy to advise you personally about the current regulations and what this means for your situation.
