At Spijkstaal, everything revolves around movement, both literally and figuratively. Annually, we manufacture approximately 500 electric tow tractors and electric commercial vehicles in the Netherlands. Our vehicles offer capacities ranging from 250 kg to 150 000 kg of towing power, available in seated, stand-on, and pedestrian models.
Spijkstaal specializes in new and used electric tow tractors, focusing on custom solutions, flexible couplings, and both indoor and outdoor applications. Concurrently, our service department is readily available for maintenance and prompt assistance throughout the Benelux region.
With streamlined communication and a pragmatic Rotterdam approach, we deliver not only efficient vehicles but also tailored solutions. Our consultants travel nationwide to assist clients in optimizing their logistical processes.

Discover Our Journey
It all began when Gerrit Neuteboom decided to construct steel agricultural trailers in Spijkenisse, which inspired the name 'Spijkstaal'.
Our electric vehicles penetrated the delivery retail sector, where we sold up to 1200 units in a peak year. Spijkstaal vehicles also became a popular choice for internal logistics within the industrial sector.
We introduced a significant innovation in our electric vehicles: the implementation of the 'automotive steering' front leg with integrated drive.
This marked the commencement of production for the iconic SRV vehicles, entirely manufactured in-house, including their bodywork.
Our bespoke fire apparatus manufacturing commenced in Hoogeveen, where no two fire vehicles were identical.
We revitalized our platform trucks and tow tractors, with particular emphasis on design and technological enhancements, primarily targeting tow tractors used in flower auctions.
Commissioned by the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, we initiated field trials with 12 electric Volkswagen Caravelles.
Various partnerships led to new technical projects, including the construction of electric refuse compactors for Van Gansewinkel and autonomous park shuttle buses for the municipality of Capelle aan den IJssel.
Spijkstaal International B.V. became a subsidiary of the Peinemann Mobilift Group, expanding its focus to include the rental of electric vehicles.
Our collaboration with AGVR resulted in the Spijkstaal AGV (Automatic Guided Vehicle) tow tractor, a converted version of our electric tow tractor.
This advanced tow tractor is exceptionally well-suited for deployment in environments such as hospitals, airports, and train stations, where the efficient relocation of waste containers, carts, and/or trailers weighing up to 2,000 kg is critical.
