Bij Spijkstaal draait alles om beweging, letterlijk en figuurlijk. We bouwen jaarlijks zo’n 500 elektrische elektrotrekkers en elektrische bedrijfswagens in Nederland. Onze voertuigen hebben capaciteiten van 250 kg tot 150 000 kg trekkracht en zowel zit-, sta- als loopmodellen.

Spijkstaal is gespecialiseerd in nieuwe en tweedehands elektrotrekkers met een oog voor maatwerk, flexibele koppelingen, en zowel indoor als outdoor toepassingen. Ondertussen staat onze serviceafdeling paraat voor onderhoud en snelle hulp binnen de gehele Benelux.

Met korte lijnen en een nuchtere Rotterdamse aanpak leveren we niet alleen efficiënte voertuigen, maar ook oplossingen op maat. Onze adviseurs reizen door het hele land om klanten te helpen hun logistieke processen te optimaliseren.

Electric and Iconic

For over 85 years, Spijkstaal has been a familiar presence in the Netherlands, achieving iconic status thanks to the famous SRV van. Generations of Dutch people remember these mobile shops, filled with products and services, which were a fixed part of the streetscape.

Since the 1980s, we have evolved into a leading brand in electric tow tractors, utilized across industries such as warehousing, healthcare, ports, and automotive. Our solutions not only make logistics processes more efficient but also more enjoyable.

THE BIRTH OF SPIJKSTAAL ELEKTRO B.V. (1938)

It all began when Gerrit Neuteboom decided to build steel agricultural wagons in Spijkenisse, which inspired the name 'Spijkstaal'.

EXPANSION INTO RETAIL AND INDUSTRY (1955)

Our electric vehicles found their way into the delivery retail sector, where we sold as many as 1200 of these vehicles in a peak year. Spijkstaal vehicles also became a popular choice for internal transport in the industrial sector.

THE INTRODUCTION OF 'CAR STEERING' IN OUR VEHICLES (1956)

We introduced a significant innovation in our electric vehicles: the implementation of the 'car steering' front leg with drive.

ESTABLISHMENT OF A NEW FACTORY IN HOOGEVEEN (1970)

This marked the beginning of the production of the iconic SRV vehicles, manufactured entirely in-house, including the bodywork.

THE INTRODUCTION OF SPIJKSTAAL FIRE TRUCKS (1985)

Our custom-built fire vehicles originated in Hoogeveen, where no two fire trucks were identical.

INNOVATIVE VEHICLES (1988)

We innovated our platform trucks and tow tractors, with particular attention to design and technological enhancements, primarily focusing on tow tractors used in flower auctions.

A SIGNIFICANT COLLABORATION (1995)

Commissioned by the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, we initiated practical trials with 12 electric Volkswagen Caravelles.

GROWTH THROUGH COLLABORATIONS (2005)

Various partnerships led to new technical projects, such as the construction of electric refuse compactors for Van Gansewinkel and self-driving park shuttle buses for the municipality of Capelle aan den IJssel.

A FRESH START WITH A NEW NAME (2015)

Spijkstaal International B.V. became part of the Peinemann Mobilift Group and expanded its focus to include the rental of electric vehicles.

THE INTRODUCTION OF THE AUTOMATIC GUIDED TOW TRACTOR (2019)

Our collaboration with AGVR resulted in the Spijkstaal AGV (Automatic Guided Vehicle) tow tractor, a converted version of our electric tow tractor.

UNVEILING OF THE SPIJKSTAAL 302 (2020)

This advanced tow tractor is exceptionally suitable for use in locations such as hospitals, airports, and train stations, where it is essential to efficiently move waste containers, trolleys, and/or trailers weighing up to 2,000 kg.
