Plug In 010

The Municipality of Rotterdam is organizing a zero-emission zone event on Thursday, March 28, 2024, Plug In 010. During this event we will provide information and advice on the upcoming zero-emission zone, abbreviated ZE-zone. The event is especially for entrepreneurs who come to Rotterdam with a van or truck.

In 10 months, on January 1, 2025, the City of Rotterdam will introduce the ZE zone. This will be introduced to improve air quality, climate and accessibility. The zone is an area in the city where only emission-free vans and trucks are allowed to enter, such as electric cars or cars running on hydrogen. This will happen in several steps. From Jan. 1, 2025, old vans lower than Euro class 5 or trucks lower than Euro class 6 will no longer be allowed to enter the zone. These are delivery vans and trucks that entrepreneurs use for business purposes. New vans and trucks purchased after January 1, 2025 must be zero-emission in the ZE zone.

From Jan. 1, 2030, no vans and trucks are allowed in the ZE zone with a fuel engine, such as diesel, gasoline or gas. There are exceptions for some business cars. These are called exemptions and waivers.

Plug In 010

Plug in 010 is for all entrepreneurs and companies that come to Rotterdam by van or truck. The doors will open on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 15.00. During this event, entrepreneurs will get information about the ZE zone rules, what an electric delivery van or truck will cost for an entrepreneur, different electric delivery vans, trucks and other electric means of transport. But also information about exceptions to the rules and charging electric vans and trucks.

Experts from the municipality will be present during the event. Entrepreneurs can ask questions of them.
